Why Life Should Be Win-Win Not Win-Loose!

Can Everyone Be Winners?

First off, it depends on your definition of ‘winning’. If by that you mean the sort of thing that Joyce Meyer or Joel Oesteen prescribe and promote – those type feel-good motivational books and sermons where we try to pretend ‘everyone can be a winner’ and here are ten steps to have your best life now kind of articles. No, this is a serious look at the way we excel or not as the case may be in relationship to our fellow man and what the Bible has to say about it.

Isn’t Winning About Being Top?

Perhaps sometimes. But is it always? Let’s take a look at our current education model – where the idea of winning is well established and the basis of most Universities and places of learning. The current model of education is based around competition, which sounds great doesn’t it? I mean competition creates excellence doesn’t it? Yes it does. But I hear some say; “that means someone has to loose.” Well yes it does and I would say that in itself is not a problem and surely the peer review education method we have now much be the best as you’ll never create excellence without the possibility of loosing and the motivator of others doing better than us – I mean we can’t all win can we?… or… can we?

What is Winning in The Bible?

The Bible’s prescription is neither the competition model or the softly softly there’s no shame in failure approach. It takes a much tougher and better stance. It says;

“You work as hard as you can (shame on you if you don’t) for the betterment
of your fellow man – then not only will HE win, buy YOU also.”

As ever The Bible is always right and this has to be the right model – that winning is not necessarily about being at the top, but being right with God and your fellow man and doing everything you can to better yourself.
