Who Really Runs The World?

OK, we’ve all seen the bazillions of conspiracy videos that knowingly or not mix truth and lies and often leave us all more confused than when we started – saying it’s this group or that group – the illuminate or the freemasons – the bankers – the royal family or alien reptiles. And even I’ve written articles about who runs the planet day-to-day – ie those with the most money – funding the tech companies to invent solutions to world ‘problems’ and then using them for their own ends. It’s always been the same even before technology as we know it – hence Jesus says the love of money, is in fact the root of all (earthy) evils. But who REALLY runs things?

May I suggest that once we’re under the layers of politicians and bankers and financiers, it’s none of the above. We know for a start that we are not fighting flesh and blood – but principalities and powers in high places – the battle is a spiritual one not a physical one, despite all appearance of the opposite – the appearance that men seem to run everything and steering history.

Well the quick and standard Christian answer would be that God really runs everything – and works all things good and bad to fulfil his prophecies – and for sure that is true and that’s what we see this happening. But we have overlooked something I think is super-important?

The Bible also says; “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Wait a minute – that didn’t say “if my politicians” – or “if my tech companies” or “this or that group of protestors.” This truly is revolutionary and suggests that the events of history are actually steered by the few faithful – or not as the case may be, and not by politicians. Politicians and their actions and decisions are merely the outworking and the result of wether or not God’s remnant people (wherever they are) are doing what God asks – He only needs a few faithful people if we are to believe the Bible to steer human history.

Sure we know man’s propensity to sin and that he will never overcome it on his own so eventually sin will consume the world and we will witness that man cannot live without God – but in the meantime we feeble but faithful few actually the ones that hold the cards! That is huge – a big responsibility. If our country is failing it’s because the faithful have become corrupt – and politicians become corrupt as a result of not having their feet held to the fire because WE the faithful few have become blind through our own wilful sin.

“If MY PEOPLE, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

The problem with YouTube

The problem with believing everything you see on YouTube and being vocal about it is that it makes the pedlars and believers of this stuff – where everyone and their mother is a giant conspiracy – look foolish, and give any real despots all the fodder they need to lock them up when the time comes, based on the dossiers that they really are compiling (some things on Youtube are true:)

So let’s stop the endless click bait conspiracies and understand that we – the faithful to God (and they are everywhere often in places you would not expect) are to be the tiny amount of salt required to preserve the whole carcass of a world that would otherwise have rotted years ago – we in our littleness and weakness with faith like a grain of mustard and a few tiny good deeds done for our neighbours and friends to effect far more than we could ever imagine – we don’t need to be on TV.

It’s the little things and little people that are important

Jesus demonstrated that the key to one’s ‘bigness’ is actually becoming smaller – becoming less – becoming a servant to others – not self! Small things are able to bring great light where there is darkness, and as a result, good politicians where there are bad corrupt ones – simply by being faithful and keeping the commands our selves and propagating them by our own behaviour. And remember – if you think God’s mercy is not down to a faithful few – and always down to the masses and the big wigs in Washington and London, remember the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. He only required 10 ordinary folk and couldn’t find them!
