What is The Trinity? Can The Trinity be Explained

The Holy Spirit – often depicted (from the Bible story of Jesus’ baptism) in art as a dove.

This subject is one that has raged (in my opinion needlessly) since the church began. So right off the bat I realise there will be many who disagree – shoot me down in flames and so on as to some it’s so serious – it’s an ex-communicable offence – and I’ve no doubt in some sects in history a capital offence!

Knowing as I do – that men (including me) love to have all their ducks in a row before they feel settled to go ahead with a proposition – it’s hardly surprising they should wish to put this ‘doctrine’ (man-made I should add to explain the mystery of God and that verse: there are three that bear record in heaven) in a box too!

So I will state now this is MY HUMBLE OPINION – open to correction and change – but just wanting to stimulate thought and if possible simplify something that we as always have (perhaps) made complicated in order to formalise something for so-called ‘lay-person’ and in doing so messed it’s beautiful simplicity up.

IMHO – the ‘Trinity’ for anyone who is confused by the many man-made efforts to explain/formalise God (for non-believers let’s not debate if God is real or or not for now): God = spirit (we could agree on that if He existed right?). God needs to come to earth – to do this he would need to inhabit a flesh body (there is no other way to do as we do and live as we live). So now God is not just spirit – but also spirit in flesh – just as we are spirit in flesh too. So then – as the Bible says: we have – God the father (spirit) – God the son (His spirit in flesh) – God The Holy Spirit (His spirit inhabiting our bodies should we invite Him to do so).

Call it a trinity if you want – I don’t – I just call it God’s spirit manifesting in different places.
