What Happens When A Real Christian Is Faced With The Ultimate Decision

This girl is amazing and put everything and everyone before herself. This is what Christ came to model and she actually did it for real! Perhaps she was a little naive to make the quick trip across a border that ended up costing her her life, or perhaps not, since her death will be for sure honoured by our Father in heaven and who’s courage has inspired us all and is helping to prepare Christian hearts for what may or may not be coming. I have to say it again – this girl is truly amazing – watch this video report and see just how giving she was aiding the needy, and then how incredibly tough she was when everything turned very dark and she was face with speaking just words that were a matter life or death – according to a male co-hostage had more courage than he did. I think this must be what a real woman looks like.

Should ransoms be paid for hostages?

I used to think that paying ransoms to evil people for hostages had to be wrong and as Obama said in this video would only make things worse – that had to be the wise decision as it’s all about numbers right – causing as few casualties as possible?

The Bible is clear that life is so precious that Jesus would have died to redeem just ONE person – one lost sheep in the parable he gave us. Of course it’s a fact that paying money to hostage takers will make things worse in the short term at least, but does that mean we shouldn’t pay? So what did our Father do when He needed to pay a ransom on our behalf, knowing that none of us would not stop sinning and none of us are without sin?

Well as I watched this video report this morning it occurred to me that not only did Jesus Christ pay the most expensive ransom ever paid and was willing to do it for one sinner, more importantly in relationship to this video, he paid it to a group of hostage takers – knowing full well this would not solve the problem of evil and even on earth in it’s current state and even encourage evil people who ‘got away with it once’ in crucifying God to feel they can get away with it again – and again, at least in the short term until Christ comes again to defeat his earthly enemies.

Of course I could be wrong on this but this deed that Jesus did and the ‘fee’ he paid of giving up his (God’s) earthly life, knowing that this would not solve the problem short term since as the onlookers to Jesus said (paraphrase); “he should take Himself off the cross if he is the son of God!” (of course He could but chose not to).

Feel free to comment with your opinions either way on the matter but these thoughts came to me today. We have seen what would Jesus do and from His actions it appears that a life is always worth paying for, no matter what the ransom price.
