A Power-Sharing God is no God at All

God does not, and cannot form coalitions with other ‘Gods’. If He did, He would not in fact be God in the first place but a created being just doing a ‘power sharing’ arrangement with other powerful beings. You see if God is really God – then He is the first cause and he is all-powerful or nothing by definition. This isn’t up for debate, and most Muslims and Christians recognise this. This is why the question many atheists pose; “well who created God then?” is a meaningless question, since if God was created, this ‘God’ is not God at all – he or she is a ‘being’ – created by God.

The Trinity isn’t a power time-share

If the trinity exists in the way most trinitarian Christians describe it – then I don’t believe in it. You know – Jesus’s flesh IS God. Actually the Bible says; “And the Word (God) became flesh” – i.e it’s the other way round – Jesus is not God – but god can be seen clearly in Jesus and God used Jesus’ body as His vessel and in that sense Jesus I believe was God. Just as you and I – also spirits are who we are in the flesh as well as who we are in our spirits.

God became flesh I believe so that we might be able to see with our own fleshly eyes the nature and character traits of God and of love and of justice, mercy, judgement and so on. At this stage – and I know many will disagree and that’s fine – we don’t need to burn each other over it, I believe that God has to come to earth himself if He is to demonstrate perfect love. He has to do as I do and not just do as I say. I may be wrong here but God coming to earth and dying for us – true or not – would be the most amazing and dare I say THE most loving gift anyone or any God could give His creation. So Jesus being God in flesh is a necessity for me for many reasons – not least that otherwise we end up with imperfect and corrupt rulers and leaders and ‘messiahs’ that are only men and nothing more.

Human language will never be enough to describe an infinite God

If God is God – He would be odd to conceal his full nature and power from us power-mad and obsessive-compulsive humans. So those who spend hours days months years trying to prove or discredit the Trinity arguing semantics and using the very limited human language would be better to stop trying and like Abraham – just believe!

No – if the Trinity does exist – then it’s more along the lines of quantum physics and electrons… ‘things’ that can be everywhere and in two places or everywhere at once and in contact with each other even if they at opposite sides of the cosmos. In other words – if the trinity exists – the thing clearly described several times in the Bible as ‘us’ – plural when it is simultaneously describing the one – singular and only God – like God himself, it must be a mystery that no amount of man-mad rationality will understand or be able to describe in human terms – and the council of Nicaea was man’s best effort but much wanting. To try and understand the trinity – be it true or false in human rational terms is folly and a waste of time.

If God IS God – we will not understand him fully, or how he exists, or how he came into existence – period! The moment we do ‘understand‘ it – we have lost the trail. God has hidden himself behind a veil and given us clues about his person. So all these videos for and against the trinity make me laugh. Let’s look at what the Bible says – and if we find it says He is 1, 1 in 3, 3 in 1 – let’s believe God as righteousness is credited to us by faith in what we don’t know. And believing the Bible does not mean we have thrown our brains away since we are not blindly trusting – we are trusting based on the fact that EVERYTHING we read in The Bible makes good, honest, historical, archaeological and scientific sense and is cohesive despite all it’s different writers who wrote in very different time periods all say the same thing about God’s character and largely mysterious (to mere mortal humans) nature.

God is spirit – The Bible says so

And indeed the Bible tells us in plain terms that; “God is spirit” – in other words He cannot be seen with fleshly eyes. And this spirit is SO powerful that if He does appear – it has to be under the veil of matter that contains the vast amounts of energy that God must be (not in some new-age, super-spiritual, all-is-one, pantheistic way) in flesh!
